How to distinguish a Chinese tablet from the original. How to distinguish a fake tablet from the original? Programs required for firmware

Fakes for popular tablet models appear on sale not much later than the official start of sales. Big brands suffer the most from the actions of such “craftsmen”. Buyers who have received a fake under the guise of the original Samsung GelaxiNout N8000 tablet may forever be disappointed in the brand. What to do to avoid getting caught by scammers?

The level and quality of counterfeiting is constantly being improved. The first versions of fakes are so crude that even an inexperienced buyer can determine it. All of the tips listed below are general and will certainly help identify a fake. But don't forget that you may end up with a fake tablet. the highest quality, and to determine its authenticity will require more attention to detail and characteristics.

The photo below is an example of an original tablet and a fake. In our case, it is very simple to identify a fake, even in appearance. The size of the tablet does not correspond to reality, the Samsung logo is smaller in size. The diagonal of the display of the counterfeit tablet is about 9 inches. In this case, the diagonal of the original Samsung tablet is 10.1 inches.

The fake, which ended up in our hands, is radically different from the original in the arrangement of ports and connectors. This is clearly visible in the photo below. Any comments are unnecessary here.

The charger for this Samsung tablet has a Micro-USB connector. Our fake is equipped with a connector of unknown origin, and this is perfectly visible in the photo of the plug from the charger. When you try to buy such a charger in a store, you will fail, which once again confirms the fake of the tablet as a whole.

The back panel of the branded tablet Samsung GalaxyNoteN8000 with a diagonal of 10.1 inches is smooth. Our fake has it styled like cheap leather. Here we see the shift of the camera lens to the corner, while on the original tablet it is located in the center.

After turning on the planet, a fake will allow you to calculate the low quality of the matrix and color rendition, including pixels visible on cheap copies. The display resolution of the original Samsung GelaxiNout tablet is 1280x800 pixels, while the fake has only 800x480.

The counterfeit tablet runs on the cheapest Chinese Allwinner processor. For example, the most expensive processor from this company costs no more than $ 4. It's not hard to guess what quality our processor has. The original tablet uses Exynos 4412 processors.

The camera is another weak point of any fake. In our case, the tablet manufacturer installed a 0.3 megapixel camera in his "work of art".

Also, a fake can be detected by a small amount of built-in memory, the appearance of icons, a desktop, installed applications and similar little things.

Fake Samsung Tablet Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb.

Unexpectedly for myself, quite recently I had a chance to encounter a powerful Samsung tablet from the Galaxy Note N8000 series with 64Gb, and to be more precise, I had a chance to encounter a fake of this model.

About a week ago the phone rang. An acquaintance called me and told me that he was offered to buy a new tablet for only $ 250. At that time he was interested in the real cost of the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 64Gb 3G, to which I answered him with data received from Yandex Market - the price of a new tablet varies from 7.9 to 9.5 million Belarusian rubles ($ 800 - $ 970).

For the sake of interest, I took a look at the characteristics of this model.

Specifications of the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb.

4-core processor 1400 MHz
2 Gigabytes random access memory
64 GB of internal memory
10.1-inch screen
High screen resolution - 1280 by 800 pixels
2 cameras
Case with separate keyboard
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other gadgets

The model is more than solid, the tablet was purchased at the beginning of the month in the city of Moscow, but now the owner has a need for money and therefore sells it. A friend told me that this tablet even has warranty card and a check from the store with the Euroset seal, which in principle excludes the possibility of counterfeiting.

Omitting the details, he bought this tablet for $ 150, and he got such a discount after he said that he needed to connect it to a computer and check everything. Neither one nor the other had time, so they agreed on this.

A little later, a friend of mine brought this tablet to me for testing, but at that time I had things to do, and I still had to go to training. In the end, I was able to start checking the tablet only late in the evening, and here all the fun began.

How do I check my tablet?

When I got home, I tried to turn on the tablet, but I didn't manage to do it the first time. It turned out that the battery galaxy tablet The Note N8000 was completely discharged.

I connected it via USB to my computer, the charging indicator lit up on the screen and then I was able to start the device for the first time.

Cool - everything works, I opened the applications, clicked the settings, connected the tablet to WiFi, used the Internet and even played some games installed by the previous owner. During such work, the tablet turned off by itself several times, and the battery charge level constantly jumped in an incomprehensible way - this alarmed me somewhat. Later, I blamed all the problems on the discharged battery, turned off the tablet and left it charging.

When my friend came back for a tablet, he asked me to throw him a couple of films and imagine my surprise when, instead of 64 gigabytes, my computer recognized only 2.

The tablet settings displayed and inner memory and another 64 gigs, but for some reason not all worked.

I decided that the N8000 tablet lacks drivers. There was indeed an unrecognized device labeled "Android" in Device Manager.

I climbed to the official Samsung website, chose desired device, downloaded and installed the Samsung Kies 3 program with drivers on my computer and immediately ran into a new riddle. The thing is that the device was not recognized by the program at all, at the moment when my samsung smartphone Galaxy S 2 was well defined.

I'm sitting in a dead end - I don't understand what this tablet needs, what it lacks. In general, I fiddled with it for about 2-3 more hours before I began to think that it might turn out to be a banal fake.

I visited the legendary portal about mobile devices W3bsit3-dns.com, in search useful information, i tried to update operating system tablet, tried to reflash it and eventually even did hard reset (full reset), but never got any results.

The next day I called another friend who is also studying computer technology and tried to find out if he had encountered a similar problem. It turned out that he was stacking and directed me in the right direction. He said it was fake.

How to distinguish a real tablet from a fake?

For a while, I searched the Internet for any related information on how to distinguish a real tablet from a fake, in particular, how to identify a fake on the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000.

1. The original tablet, the camera is centered - for a fake it is shifted to a corner.
2. The real tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 screen resolution 1280x800 - fake resolution is much lower. In my case, it was 960 by 600 - in other words, the shortcuts and app icons were just huge.
3. Fake tablet models don't have GPS. Try turning it on and everything will fall into place at once.
4. Original Samsung smartphones and tablets in "naked" mode supplied special applications like Samsung Apps, ChatON, Group Cast, etc. at the moment when the functionality of the fake versions is significantly curtailed.
5. IMEI codecertainly not an indicator, nevertheless, in new and real devices it is always present, and for fakes it is usually written "unknown" instead of it - unknown.
6. Counterfeit Samsung tablets not recognized in the original samsung program Kies.

A little from myself and pictures.

I am sure if you dig deeper on the Internet you can find many more ways with which you can identify a fake, however, in this case, for me the very fact of the spread of such tablets became a kind of discovery.

Ok here my friend bought a tablet right from his hands on the street, but, it turns out, there have been cases when such models were quietly “vparyl” to customers in fairly reputable stores like “Svyaznoy”. Where is the world heading?

And yes, by the way, after realizing and accepting the fact that the purchased Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet turned out to be a fake, I again asked my friend to show the warranty card and the receipt from the store.

At first glance, everything is as it should, the amount is the same on all documents, a check attached with a stapler to the warranty card, a seal, as is usually done in stores, is applied to the corner - everything is according to the rules. But if you take a closer look, it turns out that the booklet for the tablet for some reason comes from Samsung Galaxy TAB and not from Samsung Galaxy Note, and for some reason the same IMEI code is not spelled out at all.

In fact, this is how the tablet itself looked.

This is what the main application menu looks like. Note the huge shortcuts that hardly match the high definition I mentioned earlier.

And these are the settings of a fake tablet. Model N8000, android version and other indicators are the same, but where are the guarantees that these data are generally adequate?

This is how the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet looks like.

And by the way, an acquaintance to whom I called to find out if he had come across such a fake, said that most often the inscription on the back cover was not made with paint, but simply pasted, so this moment can also be used as a check.

Considering that today on the Internet it was difficult for me to find at least some information about forgeries of this nature, I hope that few people fell for the bait of scammers and they will not get away with it.

In general, these are the things. Good luck to everyone and be careful.

If you were offered to buy a fake or, God forbid, you became a victim of these scammers and swindlers - tell your friends about it. Warn and protect your loved ones!

Law enforcement agencies are not interested in solving such problems, and judging by how actively the discussion is going on, it has already gained tremendous momentum.

I believe that at this stage, the dissemination of information in social networks this is perhaps the most effective way. Click on the "LIKE" button located under this article and add a link to your wall. Your friends and all those who view your profile will see this warning and may have time to respond correctly.

Let everyone know about this chaos - this is quite logical and correct.

Let everyone know about this chaos - this is quite logical and correct.

While counterfeit tablets are becoming more common, we offer several ways to tell the counterfeit from the original.

Recently, there has been an increase in the sale of counterfeit Samsung tablets. How to distinguish a fake from an original? During tablet tests, we examined two fake Samsung Galaxy Note and found many differences, knowing about which will help not to fall for the bait of scammers.

So, two fakes came to us through third hands: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600, better known as the Galaxy Note 2014 Edition. The history of acquiring fake tablets from many is about the same: a market, a train station or a street, a bustling atmosphere, a certain person who needs money and does not need a tablet generously offers to buy a tablet from his hands and at a very low price. The purchase is accompanied by a check from Euroset (or another "network") and a warranty card. Moreover, in our case, in addition to charging and a USB adapter, the kit already included a cover with a keyboard in it.

How to distinguish a fake check?

The first thing we noticed is, of course, the checks. At first glance, real checks, upon detailed examination, turn out to be fake. By the way, Euroset checks are most often forged.

We turned to Euroset-Retail LLC for a comment, but they could not tell us anything by phone and advised us to contact the law enforcement agencies. But in Euroset stores, experienced sellers immediately found many differences between a fake check and the original. According to them, cashier's receipts may differ from region to region and from city to city, but regardless of this, certain information must be present on each receipt of the network, which did not appear on fake receipts:

- The real check should say Euroset-Retail LLC, not Euroset LLC. Check true name legal entity a retailer, as a rule, you can either on their official websites of these retailers, or in sales outlets.

- Also on the real receipt must be the full name of the goods. In this case, the full name of the product did not appear on the fake receipt (in our case, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 should have been written on the cash register receipt)

- The check must have the serial number of the product (in our case it was not there).

- Seller's full name must be present. The seller's name was not on the counterfeit check.

How to distinguish a fake by the appearance of a device?

Appearance front panel.

Typically, a counterfeit tablet looks different from the original. In our case, both fakes from the front look almost the same: only the fake for the SM-P600 has the logo moved up, like the original, and is applied crookedly, which is even visible to the eye. The fake N8000 has a logo at the bottom, as it should be for a real Galaxy Note N8000. In our case, it was easy to distinguish a fake by the size of the tablet. The diagonal of displays of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of 10.1 inches!

- The presence and location of ports and connectors.

Paradoxically, a fake almost always differs from the original in a set of ports. So this time, they did not resemble in any way what Samsung tablets should have.

The most noteworthy, perhaps, is a separate "back" button on the upper edge and a separate DC jack for power supply on the right (the charger in the kit had a specific plug, not a Micro-USB plug). Actually, this charger Is one of the important indicators of counterfeiting. Many people then go to stores for the same charger from "Samsung tablets" and are sincerely surprised that Samsung does not and did not have such chargers.

- Rear panel view.

As for the rear panels, the scammers have "confused" something. For some reason, a fake Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 back panel very cheaply styled like leather, and the fake Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 SM-P600 has a smooth back, when the originals should have the opposite: the real Samsung Galaxy Tab N8000 is smooth on the back, and the Galaxy Note 2014 Edition has a leather-like back. In addition, in both cases, the camera lenses are off-center rather than centered.

How to distinguish a craft by its filling and functionality?

The third thing that you should also pay attention to is the filling and functionality of the device. Fakes differ from real ones in every possible way. Some things you can easily check:

- Displays. The easiest way to "see" a fake is to turn on the display. Most often, pixels are visible on them, and the colors do not look quite natural. Counterfeit displays are terrible - with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels, instead of the promised 1280 × 800 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 and 2560 × 1600 for the Note 10.1 SM-P600. Not to mention the color rendition and the matrix.

- Battery. If during the 5-minute presentation of the tablet the battery charge sits down by more than 1-2%, then this is most likely not the original. The fake battery runs out pretty quickly, literally in half an hour. In our test of two fake Samsungs, the batteries lost 10% of their charge in 5-7 minutes! Moreover, when charging from the mains, the charger from the kit began to whistle and crack.

- Processor. The counterfeits use ultra-cheap processors from Allwinner (the AnTuTu benchmark identified our tablets as Allwinner-Tablet N8000 and Allwinner-Tablet SM-P600). Processors from this company are very cheap: for example, the "more expensive" Allwinner A33 processor can be bought for $ 4 - you can imagine how much the Allwinner A23 used in these tablets costs.

Benchmarks showed that both devices are weaker than Samsung's flagship smartphone from two years ago - the Samsung Galaxy S3: one was rated twice as weak, the other about a quarter. Allwinner SM-P600 has almost half a gigabyte of RAM, so it turned out to be stronger, but Allwinner N8000 has only a quarter GB! Basically, first Apple The iPad had the same amount of RAM and was selling well, only it was already 4 years ago.

The counterfeit has Allwinner Tech A23 processor instead of the original Exynos 4412

- Cameras. They are very easy to check. To do this, you need to go to the camera settings and see the maximum photo resolution. If you see that the resolution is small, then this is definitely a fake. Both fakes in the Product-test had two cameras each, and both were 0.3 MP!

- GPS receiver. Go to settings and see if GPS can be turned on and if there are any settings for it. Alternatively, try to download any GPS test app such as GPS test. If there is no GPS, then it will be impossible to download applications and a corresponding message will appear stating that GPS is not supported.

Both "our" fake tablets did not have a GPS receiver. It is theoretically possible that there is GPS, but there is no such function in the settings, and it cannot be detected by any navigation software. True, this is almost unbelievable and tantamount to their absence for most users.

- If the seller (or documentation) claims that the tablet is equipped with a modem, then it must also have an IMEI number. If you can't find it, then ask your salesperson to do it for you. If the tablet has a modem IMEI numbers no, then most likely you have a fake in your hands.

- Interface. Original Samsung tablets use the proprietary TouchWiz interface. You can tell by eye if you've ever seen a “naked” Android and once held a real Samsung tablet in your hands.

Fake interface Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 Original interface Samsung Galaxy Note N8000

- Instructions for the tablet. You just need to look at it and read a little. In our case, the instructions of both tablets were full of typos (!), The same screenshots from "pure" Android, black-and-white pictures, unpresentable font, which is simply incredible for the instructions for a real device from Samsung, in the check of which there are numbers in the range 17- 20 thousand rubles.

- Stylus. The "trick" of the Galaxy Note series tablets is the included stylus, which the counterfeits did not have. It's easy to check - you just need to look at the case.

- Counterfeits cannot be recognized by original software such as Samsung Kies 3, which is not surprising at all. Unfortunately, in the field it will be problematic to check in this way.

- Display diagonal. If there is a ruler or a good eye, the deception can be recognized in this way. The diagonal of both fakes does not exceed 9 inches, instead of the required 10.1 inches.

- Built-in memory. The memory can be checked in the tablet settings, but it is safer to connect to a computer and see how much memory is available. Instead of the promised 64 GB of internal memory, one tablet turned out to be 16 GB, on the other 4 GB of memory.

Distinguish a fake with manufacturer support

We contacted the Samsung support chat, but there we were "sent" to law enforcement agencies. Then we called Samsung support at 8-800-555-55-55. There, we were told that when buying goods from their hands, a person can turn to them and they will instruct him on how to distinguish an original tablet from a fake one in terms of settings. We were also told that fakes differ from the originals in almost everything: from the interface to the types of SIM-cards (the latter is not relevant in our case, since there was simply no SIM-card slot on the fakes). As a rule, each major manufacturer has its own hotline a support service that you can turn to for help in such cases.

The considered forgeries are, of course, two special cases and do not pretend to be general. Counterfeits can be different, improve, like counterfeit checks, become more like real ones. In this case, the easiest way would be to recognize a fake by an incorrect cash register receipt (without the full name of the product and its serial number), low display resolution, the presence of a DC power socket, incorrect positioning of cameras and low resolution of photographs, finally, just for the small size of tablets. Well, the most important advice that will allow you to avoid problems - do not buy tablets from your hands, no matter how positive and honest the "seller" may seem! Remember: free cheese only in a mousetrap.

Product-test continues to test tablets in the field. You can find the results of comparative tests of tablets in our rating of tablets, where all popular models are compared with each other in the most important parameters.

A lot has already been written about the merits of a working device and I agree with everyone, so immediately to the disadvantages. The only thing I want to add is that I really liked SPen .. Writing texts, at least for me, was inconvenient, so after several attempts I abandoned this venture, but I really liked sketching a primitive diagram of a room or a kitchen cabinet with dimensions .. much more convenient than do the same on a piece of paper, and then look for it.

I bought a tablet as a gift to my wife in December 2012 .. Therefore, the maximum configuration was chosen with 64GB. In April 2013, at one point, he died - multi-colored ripples appeared on the screen and no manipulations of mine (reboots, attempt full reset etc.) did not give a positive effect. I took it to the SC under warranty .. Where was it replaced system board... After that, he worked perfectly for another 4 months. And now, being abroad, where he was especially needed as a navigator, a cartoon player for his daughter. means of access to the Internet and as a phone (a local SIM card was inserted into it), for no reason at all, he simply passed out. Today I took it back to the SC, where in a conversation with the master I found out that such a problem with these 64GB tablets periodically occurs and is caused by filling in

Life time. Equal to exactly the guarantee and that's all ... With very careful handling, it turned off, discharged and no longer charges or turns on. Said the defect motherboard... IN service center repair costs 15 thousand. They offered to buy it out for spare parts. And bent the pen connector. I called the Samsung company, they told me (literally): "And what do you want, this is the same technique ..." Such treatment can be seen with everyone. I don’t want to buy any more Samsung appliances, especially expensive ones.

It is unrealistic to flash a 64 GB version (and downloading it from the manufacturer's website will not help you) - if the firmware has flown, then the tablet becomes a piece of iron, suitable only for selling the matrix.
After six months of use, large black squares began to appear on the display.
The stylus is tough to use, so there is little need for it.
    The tablet itself is heavy.
Adobe Flash Player, even if installed, does not work, so the video can only be watched on YouTube and on some sites.
When you run text files, it crashes.
When charging or accessing the Internet, it heats up quite noticeably. 3. A very short charging wire is 96 cm, it is not enough everywhere, it is very annoying! When charging from an outlet, the tablet lies on the floor, from the computer on the system unit.
    4. Expensive branded accessories. The docking station is sold even without a wire! Considering the length of the supplied cable, the docking station should be located almost on the power source (a computer socket), it's just absurd. You can't put a tablet in a case in the Dock. The docking station is an expensive and useless thing, I do not advise you to take it.
