Google Play Services: Solution for all errors. Why does an error appear in Google Play services and how to fix it Google Play Store pops up

Mobile owners android devices know perfectly well that to download any official content, you need to go to the Google Play service. Here you can find various applications that help speed up the system, antiviruses for every taste, games and other very useful tools for work and play. But often, a message appears on the screen that an error has occurred in the Google Play Services app. Usually, along with this sad message, a code is indicated, by which you can determine the reason why the service cannot work. Let's figure out what mistakes are and how to fix them yourself.

From the article you will learn

Simple message without numbering

This is a very common reason that may arise due to a conflict between the version of the Google Play service and the version of the device OS itself, or due to a malfunction of the Market.

If your phone or tablet warned of an unknown error, that is, without specifying a code, then you can try to fix it yourself by following these steps:

In most cases, this method fixes the problems that have arisen in the operation of the service, but if this did not happen, then you can solve the problem by simply removing it from the system, and then you need to download and install the latest version of the Market.

You can try to free the cache entries from the service. It is located in the system settings menu in the item of programs installed by default by the developers of your smartphone or tablet. Select it, and scroll through the menu to find the cleaning functionality.

An unknown error very often occurs due to incorrect setting of the date and time. You can also eliminate the discrepancy from the system settings in the column of the same name - you can choose to synchronize with the Internet in automatic mode or set the desired values \u200b\u200bmanually.

Also, the reason may be the lack of access to the Internet, and if you use wireless networks, then check the login password and your login, it is likely that after the fix you will be able to enter the Google Play service page.

Numbered errors

If you see the Google Play Services error number on the screen of your device, then this will help identify the problem that has arisen and quickly fix it. Below is a list of the most common mistakes and give specific advice on what to do in this or that case.

№ 24

This problem can be caused by incorrect installation of the service, when the user decided to first uninstall and then reinstall the Market service. The fact is that in this case, many traces remain in the system, not deleted folders, which do not allow to make the correct installation, that is, cause a conflict.

How to fix:

  1. Previously, from a third-party site, download to your phone or tablet any program with which you can easily get unlimited access to system settings, that is, root-rights. Such a program can be, for example, Kingo Android ROOT.
  2. After gaining access to the system folders, find the path to the sdcard / android / data / folder, in which the old Google Play files have not been deleted. Click on them and safely remove from the system.
  3. After these steps, a fresh installation of the service should proceed without errors.

№ 101

In fact, this cannot be called a problem, the system simply informs you about the lack of space in the memory of your device. Google Play is a system application, and it must be installed in the memory of the device itself, and if there is not enough space, then a message about this error pops up.

To keep the system running smoothly, do the following:

  1. Go to the system settings menu.
  2. Find "Application Manager", open it.
  3. Choose the largest programs and components, and transfer them by means of the device to the memory card.
  4. Check if there is enough space from the main menu in the "Memory" section: the free space should be marked in green.

Cache entries also take up a lot of space, and it would be nice to get rid of them, as we described how to clean the device using the example above.

№ 403

This problem may appear due to the presence of several Google accounts at once, both on the device itself and in services. To solve the problem, go to the settings from the main account, and delete the service, and then reinstall it. There shouldn't be any problems.

There may also be problems due to connecting to a proxy server (used to open sites prohibited in Russia), when redirecting to another country, it is impossible to get updates, so the number of this particular problem pops up. To get rid of the problem, you should first stop the operation of Google Services, and then clear all data.

№ 481

This problem appears when the created account is incorrectly identified, and in order to get rid of it, you first need to delete the wrong account, and then re-create it on your device. After uninstalling, don't forget to reboot your device for the changes to take effect!

№ 491

This error of Google Play services is associated with the inability to uninstall and reinstall the application from a specific account.

For solutions:

  1. First, delete your Google Play cache entries, reboot.
  2. After starting the system, go to the settings menu, select the item "Accounts and sync".
  3. Find your account and click "Delete".
  4. Restart the device again, set a new account value or restore the old one. The service should work.

№ 492

In this scenario, the Dalvik virtual machine that is using software running Java. And in this case, in principle, like the first action in all the others, you need to clear all the entries of the created cache in the Google Play and Play Market services from the main settings menu. Purge and restart one at a time.

If these actions are not successful, then you can reset all device settings to factory values \u200b\u200bfrom the main settings menu. If there is valuable information, then transfer it to a memory card or computer, and only then do the reset.

Error with code rh-01

This is a fairly common problem lately. It is solved in several ways. We wrote about this in the article "".

conclusions

These and other types of errors in most cases are corrected by clearing cache records. Well, such a view as No. 911 is associated with an unsuccessful attempt to access the Internet via a wireless Wi-Fi network, here you just need to check all the settings and set new values \u200b\u200bfor the entrance.

Sooner or later, almost every user of devices on Android encounters errors in system applications. And one of the most common and difficult to fix is \u200b\u200ba bug in the Google Play Services application. Most often, it occurs after some user action, but sometimes - spontaneously and unexpectedly, as if out of nowhere.

Today we'll talk about the causes of the Google Play Services application error and what to do to fix it.

What are Google Play Services

Error elimination methods: from simple to complex

The solutions are listed in order of ease of implementation. If one doesn't work, move on to the next. Or immediately do what you think is most appropriate for your situation.

Date and time setting

Incorrect date and time settings on the device lead to failures in the launch of many applications, not only Google Play Services. Also, at the same time, there are often problems with access to Internet resources.

To fix the error, run "Settings" (Options) on Android, open the "System" section and the subsection "Date and Time". Set the necessary indicators manually or synchronize the time over the network.

Clearing the cache and data of Google Play Services and related applications

Launch "Settings", go to the "Device" and "Applications" section. Find among them:

  • Google Play services.
  • Play Store Store.
  • Google Services Framework.

Open their properties one by one, click “Stop”, then “Clear cache” and “Erase data”. If the problem occurs after updating these applications, uninstall the updates. Reboot your gadget.

Transferring Google Play Services from SD card to device memory (root)

If some of the applications on your phone or tablet are located on a memory card, it is possible that Services also got there. If so, transfer them back to the device memory - to the system folder, or custom programs... To do this, use any utility that has the function of transferring programs between drives, for example, Link2SD, Files To SD Card, Move to SDCard or analogs.

Remove recently installed applications

If the crash occurs after you have installed one or more new applications, try uninstalling them one by one. Reboot the device after each uninstallation.

Checking for viruses and cleaning the hosts file

An unexpected, spontaneous error on Google Play Services and other system applications may be a sign of a virus infection on the device. Especially if it is accompanied by such characteristic symptoms as:

  • too fast battery discharge;
  • unexplained shutdowns of functions most often related to security, as well as the inability to change system settings;
  • inaccessibility of some resources on the Internet (for example, mail, social networks), advertising banners on web pages, redirection to other sites;
  • non-application related ads on the device's desktop;
  • spontaneous installation of programs you do not need and the inability to remove them;
  • hidden by calls and SMS messages to unknown numbers;
  • the disappearance of funds from the balance of the phone and electronic wallets;
  • sudden removal or disruption of the antivirus.

Our site has already told. But sometimes removing malware alone is not enough, especially when the device is rooted. If a virus has made changes to system files and settings, then they are usually saved and effective even in the absence of the root cause.

Some malware writes entries to the hosts file, which, like a computer, stores IP addresses and their associated website names. These entries can also cause the Google Play Services error, so after scanning for viruses, regardless of whether they were found or not, you should check the hosts.

User access to the hosts file is possible only on devices where root is obtained. In addition, you will need an explorer application with access to system directories, like Root Explorer or Total Commander. Required file is located in the / etc folder and has no extension. You will need any text editor to open and edit it.

The hosts file consists of a comment block, lines of which begin with a # sign, and a block of entries. Comments do not affect anything - they are just reference information, and the records tell the device by what IP address to look for a particular site on the Internet.

Initially, the second hosts block contains only one entry - 127.0.0.1 localhost, which means that this IP belongs to the device itself. And all sites mapped to 127.0.0.1, it will search on itself.

If you see anything other than "127.0.0.1 localhost" in the block of records, remove that.

After saving the file and restarting the device, the Google Play Services error often disappears.

Deleting and re-creating your Google account

Described in detail in another article on the site, so we will not repeat. After deleting, create a new account on the device, and then clear the cache and data of the Services and related applications again, as described above.

Reinstalling Services (root)

Reinstalling helps fix an error that occurred after updating Gogle Play Services or installing an unsuitable version after manually uninstalling. It is better to download a file suitable for your device from here, since the link contains old, obviously stable versions (how to determine your own, see the section on the causes of the error).

After downloading, the apk file of the application should be placed in the / system / app (/ system / priv-app) or / data / app directory using the same Root Explorer or Total Commander. Next, do not forget to give it permission to read and write (on Root Explorer, this is done by touching the button surrounded by a frame in the screenshot to switch from R / O to R / W) and start the installation.

After rebooting your device, chances are the error won't bother you anymore.

By the way, if a problem occurs after updating the Services, it may recur as soon as the device downloads a new version from the Play Store. Therefore, you may have to disable the installation of its updates. In any case, until the real culprit of the situation becomes clear.

Factory reset and flashing

If all your attempts to fix the error were unsuccessful, the last resort remains - resetting Android to factory settings and flashing. Resetting is a pretty effective solution for all kinds of system problems, but it will not have the desired effect on rooted phones and tablets. In addition, you will lose personal files and settings. Use it only on non-rooted gadgets and only when you have tried everything more simple ways.

The reset function is available through the "Settings" application - the "System" - "Recovery and reset" section, as well as through the Recovery menu, the method for opening which is usually given on the websites of mobile devices of various brands.

Re-flashing a device on Android is tantamount to reinstalling the operating system on a computer, that is, this is the most radical solution there is. It doesn't matter to her whether the device was rooted or not. After flashing, you will get a pristine system, mistakes will remain in the past, but you will have to set up and settle it again.

Like any other app, Google Play is not crash-proof. It may not open, load content, freeze or crash. All this happens infrequently, but if it has already happened, then you need to know how to quickly fix the problem. Depending on the situation, solutions may vary. Let's start with the simplest.

1. Make sure the problem is on the user's side

The first thing to do in case of problems with Google Play is to test the service on other devices. You can launch the store in a browser on a PC, or ask someone close to open the application on their smartphone.

If the problem is observed not only on your gadget, then nothing should be done. Most likely, there was some kind of failure on the side, and soon it will be eliminated. If the store does not open or only works incorrectly for you, you need to perform one or more actions from the list below.

2. Force Google Play to close

In many cases, a simple restart of the application helps. You can close it in the list of active processes or through the "Applications" section of the settings. There in the search you need to find "Google Play Store" and click "Stop" or "Close".

3. Restart Wi-Fi

It is possible that the problem lies in the network connection. To exclude this option, you should try restarting on your smartphone, and also check for a problem when connecting to the mobile operator's network.

If the smartphone does not go online at all, but at the same time shows a stable Wi-Fi connection, it is worth restarting the home one.

4. Turn on flight mode

Oftentimes, you can easily get Google Play back on track by simply switching to and from airplane mode after a few minutes. Surprisingly, it really helps, especially if the app store is frozen during a download.

You can start the flight or "Airplane" mode from the system or settings in the "Wireless networks" section.

5. Restart your smartphone

In case of problems in the operation of Android applications, a simple reboot of the smartphone is never superfluous. Difficulties with Google Play are no exception.

6. Delete cache and Google Play data

Quite often, the problem lies in the accumulation of irrelevant and temporary data in the Google Play application. To get rid of them. you need to open "Applications" in the settings of the smartphone, go to Google Play and there, in the "Memory" section, select reset and clear.

It is worth considering that when you delete application data, you will need to re-authorize the next time you open Google Play. If that doesn't work, perform an identical wipe on the Google Play Services app.

7. Check the date and time settings

Problems with the synchronization of the date and time can cause the app store to fail. You can check the influence of this factor by simply enabling or disabling the use of network time. This can be done through the system settings in the "Date and time" section.

8. Uninstall Google Play updates

You cannot delete the Google Play application itself in the standard way, but it is quite possible to get rid of the updates downloaded for it. This will allow you to rollback to the old version of the program, which may be more workable.

You can remove updates through the "Applications" section of the settings, where you need to select "Google Play Store" and click "Remove updates". Depending on the system, this button may be visible or hidden in an additional menu in the upper right corner.

9. Update Google Play manually

If all of the above methods did not allow you to revive the application store, then you should try to install a more recent or even the same version of Google Play manually. In both cases, the application will simply update the current version.

For a manual update, you need to download the Google Play APK file and install it from your smartphone's memory. In the settings, you will need to allow the installation of unknown applications, which the system will ask you about automatically.

10. Delete your Google account and log in again

Sometimes re-authorization on your smartphone allows you to restore the work of Google applications. To do it, you need to open the section "Users and Accounts" in the smartphone settings, select a Google account and delete it from the device.

In cases where the Google Play Market has started to be "capricious", does not want to download applications, errors during updating, or simply does not enter, in most cases it can be reasoned and made to work as it should. Despite the fact that this manual is written for devices: Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4, it can be used for any Android phones or tablets where there is a Play Store, not necessarily Samsung, just some of the item names may be called a little differently, but I think in general you can figure it out and find a similarity.
One of these points should help, you don't always need to complete all the points!

1. Restart your phone (tablet).
Those. turn it off and then turn it on again, I think it's easy to understand how this is done.

2. Check for device updates
Settings - About device - Software Update - Refresh

3. Check your phone (tablet) for viruses
As with the help of an antivirus on the phone, for example, or any other to your taste, or by connecting it to a computer and checking the antivirus through the PC

4. Check your Google Account settings to see if 2-Step Verification is worth it:

- Safety - 2-step authentication - must be off status

5. Update the Play Store application itself by installing the new version from the file -
Do not worry if the version of the file being installed is less than the version of the Market that you had before, after a while the Market will update itself to the latest version again.

Do not forget to check before that if the installation of third-party programs on the device is allowed: Settings - Safety - unknown sources - must be ticked

6. Go to Settings - Application Manager
In the tab DOWNLOADED find Google play market and click on it

Push Clear cache
Push Clear data
We return to the Application Manager, scroll to the right to the tab ALL
Looking for a process com.google.process.gapps (it may not exist), if it is not there, then everything is fine, try the Market, if there is one, go into it and forcibly stop

7. Go to Settings - Application Manager - scroll to the right to the tab ALL - looking for an application Downloads

We go into it and click Clear data
Clear cache
Forcibly stop (if the application is stopped - enable it and then you do not need to disable it)
If the power button appears after stopping, do not forget to turn on

8. Go to Settings - Application Manager - scroll to the right to the tab ALL - looking for an application Google Accounts

Clear data
Clear cache

9. Go to Settings - Application Manager - scroll to the right to the tab ALL - are looking for Google play market

Push Remove updates

10. ATTENTION : this will reset the settings of all applications on the phone, not only the market, note the contacts will also disappear, do not forget to copy them!
Go to Settings - Application Manager

Press the key to the left of the mechanical - Reset app preferences

This is all that can be done at the user level.
If the phone is under warranty, you can contact the service - just tell us that there is a problem with the market and you should not talk about what was done above, so as not to give them a reason to find fault with the warranty
If not, zeroing is necessary, or better flashing.

Something else interesting

Microsoft Edge officially changes its engine from EdgeHTML to Blink and moves to Chromium technologies. Users will get a more familiar and mainstream engine, fewer website display problems, and a more familiar work environment. It would seem that there is nothing wrong with that, but this step may turn out to be very deplorable for us, our Internet and the future of the Internet. In fact, there are only three browsers left in the world.

There are a lot of browsers, there are dozens, if not hundreds, but no matter how paradoxical it may sound - in fact there are three of them. there is Google chromewhich builds on the open source Chromium and uses the Blink engine, there is Apple's Safari, which runs on the WebKit engine, and there is Firefox, which runs on Quantum (formerly Gecko). Apple uses Safari only on its operating systems and this browser is not available to everyone, only the confrontation between Google Chrome and Firefox remains.

There are other browsers such as Opera, Yandex.Browser, SRWare Iron, Slimjet, Torch Browser, Vivaldi and many others, but all of them are based on Chromium and are only "tied" with many additional features. Everyone recognizes the fact that Chromium is dominating the market and that Google is beginning to take over our internet.

What's wrong with that? One source code, one engine makes it easier for web developers to build and optimize their sites. For users, everything is displayed correctly on all browsers and there are no problems with web surfing. But there is another, negative, side of such a situation, close to a monopoly.

Chromium is open source and developed by a community of users. Both simple developers and large companies such as Adobe, Samsung and many other giants can contribute to the development of code and the Internet. Chromium is a non-profit project, but it must also be funded, and it receives most of the funding from Google, which actually founded the project. Google makes changes to the code, actively develops Chromium, and only then takes a stabilized assembly and more closely brings its developments into it, subsequently turning this creation into Google Chrome. Also Google oversees the development of Chromium. Most often, the control process is associated with the limitation of technologies, but we do not want an incompletely tested technology or technology with errors in our browser. Sometimes technologies are postponed because they consume a lot of resources, because the browser must be very fast, so at one point Adobe's developments were removed from the browser and postponed indefinitely, which the company did not really like. And this is already an example of not very good control.

The second example is the withdrawal of support for Windows XP, which occurred several years ago. Google simply said it was time to end support and waste energy on the operating system of the past. And at the same time, most browsers also dropped support because they had to. Many, of course, proudly stated that they continued to support Windows XP and further, but in fact it turned out that they took the latest supported Chromium build and tried to make at least some changes to it in order to patch security holes, and about full new versions and a long development is out of the question. Google controls Chromium and that's a fact.

Google Chrome and Firefox remain the only browsers to truly oppose each other. They can be installed on any operating system, and they are available to any user, Safari is opposed here rather in terms of ideology and cannot be called a full-fledged competitor, since it is limited by operating systems and audience.

Already more than half of the browser market belongs to Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. Firefox's popularity will decline, but it is the departure of the fourth player, Microsoft Edge and EdgeHTML, that could affect the market. If Google achieves total domination, an attempt to abuse the position may begin, which will not only begin to infringe on other browsers, but may also begin to force webmasters to introduce certain technologies on their sites. Something similar happened in the early 2000s, when the market was dominated by Internet Explorer and the webmasters of those years remember how sad it was to create websites at that time. Few people want a repeat of this.

Now we have an interesting moment in the development of the Internet, its fate can be strongly influenced not so much by technology as by browsers. With all their diversity, in fact there are not so many of them. Time will tell what will happen next.
