GIFs on the Windows 8 desktop. How to easily set the GIF image as wallpaper on the Windows desktop

Live wallpaper - animation or video that can be set as the background image of the desktop. By default, Windows only allows static pictures. To put animation on your desktop, you need to install special software.

There are several programs for working with live wallpaper. Some only support animated GIFs (GIF files), others can work with videos (AVI, MP4). Next, we will consider the most popular software that will help animate the screensaver on your computer.

Method 1: PUSH Video Wallpaper

The program is available for free download from the developer's official website. Supported by Windows operating systems starting from "seven". Allows you to use animated images and videos (from YouTube or computer) as desktop screensavers.

Wallpaper installation instructions:

  1. Run the distribution and follow the instructions of the installation wizard. Agree to the terms of the license agreement and proceed with the installation normally. After finishing the installation, check the items "Set as Screensaver" and "Launch Video Wallpaper", and press "Finish".
  2. The screen saver options will open. From the dropdown select "PUSH Video Screensaver" and press "Parameters"to change the wallpaper.
  3. Go to the tab "Main" and choose a wallpaper. The program supports working with videos, gifs and YouTube links (requires an Internet connection).
  4. Click the icon "Add"to add a custom video or animation.
  5. Specify the path to it and click "Add to Playlist"... After that it will be displayed on the tab "Main".
  6. Click on "Add URL"to add a link from Youtube. Enter the link address and click "Add to playlist".
  7. In the tab "Settings" other parameters can be configured. For example, allow the program to start with Windows or minimize to tray.

All changes take effect automatically. To change the screensaver, simply select it from the list available on the tab "Main"... Here you can also adjust the volume (for video), image position (fill, center, stretch).

Method 2: DeskScapes

Supported by operating systems Windows 7, 8, 10. Unlike PUSH Video Wallpaper, DeskScapes allows you to edit an existing screensaver (adjust color, add filters) and supports work with multiple monitors at the same time.

The order of installing wallpaper:

The free version of the program is available for download from the official website and allows you to set a gif, video as a background image of your desktop.

Method 3: DisplayFusion

Unlike PUSH Video Wallpaper and DeskScapes, the program is fully translated into Russian. Allows you to select and customize screen savers, desktop wallpapers.

The program supports work not only with live wallpapers, but also with video files. The user can customize the slideshow at will. Then the screensaver will change according to the timer.

You can install an animated image on your desktop only with the help of special software. DeskScape has a simple interface and a built-in library of ready-made pictures. PUSH Video Wallpaper allows you to set not only GIFs, but also videos as a screensaver. DisplayFusion has a wide range of tools and allows you to manage not only the wallpaper, but also other parameters of the monitor.

As many probably remember, some versions of Windows Vista had such a spectacular feature called Dreamscene. It allows you to set videos in .wmv or .mpeg format as the desktop wallpaper.

In Windows 7, a wallpaper slideshow appeared instead. However, Dreamscene did not disappear anywhere, but was simply deactivated and hidden in the bowels of the system. In order to make it possible to use, you can use a tiny utility Windows 7 DreamScene Activator .

After downloading and unpacking the archive, you must run the file with administrator rights (right click - Run as administrator). Then you need to press the button Enable DreamScene.

Now in the context menu of video files a new item will appear Set as Desktop Backgroundwith which it can be set as the desktop wallpaper.

Now all that remains is to visit the site http://www.dreamscene.org and choose a suitable video for your desktop, and there is definitely something to choose from - several hundred selected scenes are sorted into categories. However, there are enough other places on the net for downloading suitable videos - google it.

All this splendor has only a small drawback - the labels of icons and folders on the Desktop become translucent and therefore difficult to read. But this is easy to fix. We go into the properties of the desktop ( Personalization - Desktop Background - Solid Colors) and choose white. That's it - the inscriptions became visible again.

Anticipating the groaning of some ascetics, I would like to note in conclusion that, of course, Dreamscene does not bring any benefit, but only consumes system resources. But on the other hand, if the performance of the processor is constantly growing every year, then why not keep it busy? :) Moreover, when a full-screen window is open, the video is paused and system resources are not consumed.

7Fon is a service that will help you find beautiful wallpapers for your desktop background easily. We have collected here more than 140 thousand images from all over the Internet, each we carefully check before adding to the site. More than a hundred new wallpapers appear on our resource every day. And if we find a better quality copy of the picture, then we replace it. All this guarantees excellent quality screensavers.

Convenient choice of wallpaper

The highlight of our site is a fast and convenient intelligent image search system.

Search for pictures by color is a unique feature on 7Fon. To search for photos of a certain color, click on the colored circle in the search stock at the top of the page. Further, using a convenient palette, select the desired shade and click "Search". As a result, our smart algorithm will automatically select the wallpaper in which this color prevails. Be sure to use this tool - we tried :)

And of course, there is a text search for the desktop screensaver. We assign tags to each picture, which makes it easier to find. By the way, we have implemented it in 7 languages, including Ukrainian and Russian. Enter in the search field what should be shown in the picture, the language will be automatically detected.

Screensaver size selection and editing

On the pictures page, there are dozens of resolutions of the most popular monitors. You can download the wallpaper in its original size or choose the one you want before downloading. You can trim the image beforehand using the cropping frame.

Another feature of ours is editing a photo using an online editor. To the left of the Download button, there is a button with a palette, this is where this monster is hiding. In terms of its capabilities, it is very similar to Photoshop - there will be a place for fantasy to roam!

Phone wallpaper

Using the QR code, you can download the wallpaper to your phone. This is very convenient, because after finding a picture from your computer and then scanning the QR code, you can instantly download it to your smartphone or tablet for a screensaver on your home screen.

We are sure that 7Fon will become irreplaceable for you when you decide to download wallpapers to your desktop!

Until that time, the only way to animate on Apple mobile devices was to enable so-called dynamic wallpapers. They are preinstalled in iOS, but there are so few of them that there is almost nothing to choose from.

Fortunately, you can set GIF files in an easy way, that is, any animation as live wallpaper on your iPhone or iPad. See how to do it?

How to add animation to iPhone

In the iPhone and iPad, starting from the version of iOS 7, it became possible to add something similar to animated wallpapers. It cannot be said that this is a full-fledged animation. This is just one dynamic picture in several color options (green, gray, yellow, red, etc.). In general, it is very sad in comparison, for example, with Android, where you can install almost any live picture and even a short video without any problems. To connect live wallpaper to iPhone, we will use a simple trick.

As a result, you can put in iOS what the Apple operating system does not offer by default - any animation as live wallpaper on an iPhone or iPad. Of course, we will not talk here about installing full-fledged films, but about GIF animation, that is, short, several-second animation videos. But this is quite enough compared to the complete lack of options.

Let's go directly to the solution itself. It should be noted that for the full functioning of the live wallpaper, you do not need to jailbreak. It is enough to connect the iPhone to the Internet.

How to enable GIF as animation on iPhone and iPad

To use this method and install GIF files as live wallpapers, you need to install the iFunBox program.

Please note that this method has been tested on a computer running macOS, so we do not recommend other solutions.

First, download and install iFunBox on your macOS computer. Then we launch the program and connect the iPhone to the computer using a USB cable. Then you need to download another tool. It's called vWallpaper2 and you can download it from the Internet without any problems.

After downloading vWallpaper2, install it using the iFunBox program on a smartphone or tablet. The installation should take about a minute. Alternatively, you can also use the Cydia Impactor app. Let's move on to the next step.

It consists in downloading or converting GIF to MP4 format for compatibility with iPhone. The file can also be downloaded to the iPhone itself.

Open the file (that is, export it) from the vWallpaper2 application and set it as live wallpaper on your iPhone or iPad. This operation can be done using the command Manage current theme... The whole process shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

After completing the work, you can enjoy correctly installed live wallpapers on our iPhone.

Desktop in Windows 7. How do I put a GIF animation to make it move ??? and got the best answer

Answer from Kote [guru]
You can't put a GIF in any way, but making an animated wallpaper is like two fingers ..
You install the VLC player, in the settings you install the download along with Windows,
always on the desktop and there is a function of constant file playback. That's all . The screensaver files can be downloaded, they are in simple WMV format.
I tried this thing a long time ago. In principle, it's quite interesting - the wind sways the grass, the clouds float - and all this has desktop icons and everything is clickable.
But there is also a minus to all this beauty. 1) Quickly becomes boring and boring. 2) It loads the processor quite a lot, which in itself is not good.

An animated picture cannot be installed on a standard desktop.
Create an html page that will display this picture, and specify in the desktop settings that the specified web page is displayed on it.
