Many problems with television will have to be solved through the support of the provider.

1. Download error: Server not found

If a message appears on the TV screen: “Server not found”, then you are faced with a network equipment problem. You will not be able to cope with the situation on your own, so you should resort to the help of the Rostelecom support service.

If you see an error message in front of you: “No IP address”, then the reason may be in this list:

  • no signal from the PBX (provider error);
  • the receipt of data on the router that does not reach the set-top box;
  • an error in the router settings.

To troubleshoot, first make sure the cables are connected correctly. You will have to remove and insert all the plugs again, as the contact in the connectors may be broken. Next, check the router settings: enter the menu at “192.168.1.1”. In the router menu, you can find out that the signal from the provider is on, there is Internet, but the signal itself does not reach the router, in which case the cable laid in your apartment is physically damaged, and the problem is solved by replacing the cable.

3. No video input

If the TV is working, but you see an error message on the screen: “No Signal” (Eng. No Signal), or the TV does not show anything at all, the reason is the wrong choice of communication channel for signaling or cable damage. Basically, modern technical devices have multi-channel (several inputs). For example, the combination of HDMI and RCA. If you select a communication channel in the settings that differs from the connector to which the data cable is connected, you will see a message on the screen that there is no signal.

For troubleshooting, make sure that the data channel is in operation. Enter the menu using the remote control (“Source” button) and check that the name of the port (connector) to which the cable is connected matches the corresponding item in the settings. If there is no signal when the input is specified correctly, check the cable for damage by replacing it with a good one. 4. Download error: Invalid username or password

When you operate the set-top box for the first time, be sure to double-check the entered login and password from the card issued when connecting television and Internet services. Note that the input data does not have letters or special characters and is numeric only.

If everything is correct, then the problem may lie in the settings of the router. If there is no access to the server, authorization will not be able to pass, so you need to check the router configuration. If you have just replaced the set-top box and are faced with an authorization problem, be patient, a possible reason is the small amount of time allotted for attaching the set-top box to the registration data.

5. "Endless" cartoon about a rabbit

When turned on, the TV shows a table, followed by a cartoon about a rabbit. You may encounter such an error when connecting the set-top box for the first time. A typical problem: the set-top box does not receive firmware from the Rostelecom server. It depends on two reasons:

  • broken router settings;
  • incorrectly configured port from Rostelecom.

In order for the router to be configured correctly, reconnect the port from the LAN group in parallel with the WAN port. Otherwise, the set-top box will receive the wrong IP address. Make sure the set-top box is connected to the port configured for it. If the problem persists, contact Rostelecom technical support with a request to check the port settings.

6. Freezing of the image on the TV, scattering into squares

The most popular reasons:

  • cable damage;
  • problem with Rostelecom equipment.
  • The first reason may arise if you have not left the bandwidth for TV, using all the speed for using the Internet. You should disconnect all devices from the router, except for the set-top box. Compare the image quality, if the situation has improved and you see a clear high-quality image on the TV screen, then you need to set up traffic prioritization. You can do this using the QoS tool or download rate limiting.

    The second reason often appears due to the careless handling of the cable by the owner. Check if the patch cord has been transferred somewhere in the apartment, whether the connectors are properly fixed in the connectors.

    The third reason lies in the limited time of the set-top box for decoding the signal (it does not have time to convert the signal into an image) or the arrival of packets with errors on the set-top box. Reconnect the console, see if you get rid of the problem. In case of a negative result, contact Rostelecom technical support.

    Important: freezing interactive television within reasonable limits is a standard phenomenon.

    7. Message about the absence of a wired interface

    The problem is in your internet line (no multicast broadcast). Rebooting the router and set-top box can help you, it is also advisable to check the cable for damage.

    8. Loss of sound (TV shows picture)

    If you encounter no sound or loss of sound, then change the RCA cable (cable with "bells", "tulips") or switch to an HDMI cable. This failure most often occurs due to poor-quality equipment, poor contact in the connectors.

    9. Only 8 federal channels work

    The most common reason: your login is blocked.

    To remove the problem, check the availability of funds in your Rostelecom personal account using a call or access to the World Wide Web. If everything is in order with the balance, make sure that the blocking is disabled in the set-top box menu (often people do not notice how they accidentally block the system). When both options are checked, but no solution is found, call Rostelecom technical support, most likely there was a failure in the database, and only professionals can fix this problem.
