If you do decide to install GApps, then the best option is GApps Pico. This is a minimal set of Google applications, containing only Google and Play Store services. They are installed in the same way as the firmware itself, you can download it on the Open GApps website.

Do you need GApps?

GApps is the Play Store and Google services that enable the Play Store, Google apps and third-party apps to interact with various Google APIs. The Google API provides capabilities such as cell towers and Wi-Fi positioning, automated login to various services, antivirus with a database and autoscanning, speech recognition, synchronization of contacts and calendar with Google servers, instant delivery of push notifications, and some others.
