Those. with me 0 =))) In general, this project is designed primarily for beginners, but if you are interested and who is more experienced - I will only be glad!)

The first stage of the project has already started, but if you wish, you can join us at any stage of the project - the main thing is that at the end of it you have a full-fledged beautiful photo album that you would be proud of) For each stage, I am preparing an interesting article on the use of certain techniques for the scrapbook album - at the first stage it was information)

And we continue with you!)

And here is my second spread!

And now some details)

Mandatory element this time there will be a large folding bed for 4-5 or more photos! I’ll tell you about how to make these a little later) In the meantime, I would like to talk about such an integral part of any photo album as a substrate! And indeed, without them, nowhere - whether you are making an album without photos, or with them - the substrate is what gives any photo in your album a finished look and determines its rightful place)

I am often asked about the sizes of substrates - and so, if photos are sewn to them, then the size will be calculated as a photo format + 5 mm on each of its sides (i.e. for a 10x15 cm photo, the size of the substrate will be 10.5x15.5 cm) - so around the photo there will be a neat frame that emphasizes it favorably and generally gives some kind of completeness.

If you use hole punches / corners, then for the first time I advise you to practice on some unnecessary piece of paper =) The fact is that for each hole punch there will be a distance that you need to retreat under the photo and, accordingly, by which you will have to make your substrate larger ( so, for my simplest corner punch, the substrate will be 1 cm larger on each side, and accordingly for a 10x15 cm photo I will make a 11x16 cm substrate)

There is another interesting option with substrates - using homemade corners and a corner hole punch. Here, as in the previous case, you need to calculate the margin with which you need to cut off the substrate, but in my opinion, this is one of the most interesting looking options for attaching a photo))

Everyone determines the size of such a corner for himself, but, for example, I stopped at 5 cm for equal sides of the corner for a photo of 10x15 cm and 4.5 cm for a photo of 9x13 cm. Corners can be placed as in my example - on two opposite sides, or you can use all four - at the corners of the photo, but in this case the corners should be smaller in size.

Now briefly about what kind of substrates are) The simplest option is the standard single ones, designed for one photo.

But to fit two, three or more photos in a small space, you will already need a “clamshell” substrate. Such substrates are a huge help for any scrapbooker. So, I am usually ordered to fit on 5 spreads of the album from 75 photos and more!!! Can you imagine what I would do without using such clamshells??? Yes, I wouldn’t do anything))) And so, it’s really possible to place up to 100 photos on 5-6 spreads, leaving also a small space for decoration itself.

Here are the main layouts of these cots that I usually use in my albums. On 2 photos - I call them substrates - openers. In order to do this, we simply measure the size of a standard single photo substrate + 2.5-3 cm for its base, on which it will be attached.

At the same time, such a substrate can be attached both on the front side of the page

So with its marginal location - from the back. Again, such a substrate can be either vertical or horizontal.

Such single substrates can be combined with each other, obtaining an interesting result) For example, the photo shows three such substrates, all held together by one arrow-anchor and opening one after another!

Substrate for 3 photos:

Moreover, in the album you can turn these folding beds as you like - vertically, horizontally, turn them over so that they open in different directions, arrange such folding beds, getting interesting options ...

For birthday. It can be made with your own hands, while it will turn out to be original and bright. You need to start by preparing all the necessary items:
