If you have bought a zyxel keenetic router, then you will not be able to use the Internet network immediately, as it requires your manual setting. The main steps that you need to perform are: Copy your Mac address, configure Wi Fi connection, set your username and password, as well as other connection security options. The best solution will be familiar with the instruction that goes in the configuration with the router. You will need ten minutes of free time and full access to the Internet cable to switch it from the router to the computer.

First you need to connect the Internet cable to that computer from which you are going to configure. If you have already enjoyed the Internet from it, then this action can not be performed.

Now connect the cables as follows:

• Internet Spend in the router in a special hole, which is located separately from the rest.
• LAN Cable One end Connect to a computer, and to another to the router in any connector that can be somewhat, depending on your model ZyXEL Keenetic.
• Turn on the router by pressing the big button on the back.

Note that at this stage you do not need anything else. You can connect the remaining computers later.

Now open on your computer any browser. Enter the address of the address http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar, or if it did not fit - http://192.168.1.0

You will open the login window. If no one has changed access settings on your router earlier, then by default the username "admin" without quotes, and the password "1234".

You will find yourself in the window of all settings and parameters of your router, go to the "Internet" section, and then "Connect". Here you will specify the main network connection settings:

• In the column "Setting the parameters of the iR" set the value "Automatically".
• Under this item, do not forget to put a check mark near the words "Get the addresses of DNS servers automatically".
• Now the most important point is Mac address. Most often, the router itself defines the MAC address of your computer, which is connected via the LAN network. Put the "Take from the computer" in the second column, and the MAC address will appear in the third.

Click "Apply" and you will have access to the Internet. If any failure occurred, update the firmware on the official website at https://help.kenetic.net

Now configure the connection to Wi Fi. Go to "Wi Fi Network" in the left router menu, then "connection".

• Put a check mark near the Wi Fi client string.
• Write your network name. It can be your surname or just a common word. The name will be displayed on other devices when searching for networks.
• Network protection must be "WPA2-PSK" if you want to install a password so that the neighbors do not have the ability to connect.
• This section may be the "network key" item, and may not be, depending on your model of the router. If there is no such item, you will find it in the "Protection" section in the left menu. Enter the password you exactly remember.
• Install the checkboxes in the last two points.

Click "Apply".

Change the password and login to enter the router settings for more security, because each user knows about the password "1234".

Go to the "System" section. From the drop-down list, select "Password".

• Enter twice a new password from your router. Do not forget to record it and store in a safe place, otherwise it will be difficult to restore access.

Now click "Apply".

You have completed the main configuration of the ZyXEL Keenetic router and you can insert the remaining LAN wires from computers to it.
