Let's start.
1) To begin with, after the purchase, I strongly advise you to immediately update the firmware here ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/
Choose the desired router after; to the Firmware folder.
The update is necessary, since there are some router failures - it breaks the connection after some time (about a few minutes), but it only helps to unplug it. There are also Wi-Fi glitches on it - range, shutdown.
2) In no case do I advise you to change the initial address of the router 192.168.0.1, since various failures also occur and work with some devices is disrupted (in particular, I could not connect Smart-TV from Samsung for a long time).
3) Now let's move on to the basic setup.
I will explain everything on the example of my D-link dir-300 NRU rev.B6 router with the updated firmware of this version rev.B5 / B6 1.4.4. For the rest, I think it won't be much different.

Let's go to the advanced settings, specifically to the Network - LAN setting.

It should look like in the screenshot, in addition, I have static addresses for devices on the local home network. Everybody is here.
Then we go to the Network - WAN setting. Since my provider is Multinex, I will explain on it. On early firmware, the provider's local network and its private virtual network were two different connections, now they are one. We do it as in the screenshots.

We fill in the checkboxes, register the login and password (if necessary), LCP gaps and intervals.
We have come to an important MTU parameter: you will only need to change where is the private virtual network with a password and login. This parameter determines the number of bytes in the packet - whatever that means.
MTU selection is done individually using the command line command.

A) Preparing the router.
For each computer on the network that needs to configure a DC, we create 2 virtual servers (why 2 is not clear, but that's not the point)
For example, the local address of my computer is 192.168.0.3 - we use port 10033 for it.
Guided by the screenshots, we do:

The process of flashing the router itself can be described in several steps:

1. Download and save your chosen firmware using the links above.

2. Launch your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google chrome) and in the address bar enter 192.168.0.1, press the Enter key. In routers previously flashed for Beeline, you must specify 192.168.1.1. A window will appear prompting you to enter your login and password to enter the router's web interface. Enter your username and password, and if the router is configured in the first, enter admin in both fields. You will be taken to the router settings page. The examples were created on firmware 1.2.94, and on routers with different firmware may differ, but not significantly.

3. Go to the System -\u003e Software update section.

So let's start, in a browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is recommended.), Enter your router's address in the address bar, by default it is used 192.168.0.1 (login admin, password admin)

Installation of DD-WRT firmware on D-Link DIR-300 Revision B1 is performed through the standard web interface of the router. Further point by point:

1. Download the firmware from this site or check the newer version at http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database by typing DIR-300 B1 into the search. We need the file dlink-revb- factory-webflash.bin

2. We connect dir-300 with a 'straight' network cable from the kit (any of the 4 LAN ports of the router) with a computer.
In the properties of the local area network connection on the computer, set the IP address 192.168.0.15 and the subnet mask 255.255.0.0

If the page does not load, try clearing the browser cache, close and reopen. DD-WRT firmware login and password is root / admin.

DD-WRT version update

For a subsequent firmware update from DD-WRT, use the dir300-revb- ddwrt-webflash.bin. Download it here - or on http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database having driven into the search DIR-300 B1.

1. Open the DD-WRT web interface in a browser, by default it is located at 192.168.1.1
2. Select the Administration tab -\u003e click "Firmware Upgrade"

Returning the official firmware is also not difficult and the execution algorithm is exactly the same as in the paragraph - "Updating the DD-WRT version". Naturally, we need to have a pre-prepared firmware file, download -. Rollback to factory firmware using Emergency Room

Sometimes there are situations when it is impossible to return to the factory firmware using the method described above. In this case, we use the Emergency Room.

1. Perform a reset to factory reset, either through the DD-WRT web interface, or by pressing the reset button.
2. Remove all ethernet cables, leaving only the LAN1 connection of the router -\u003e PC. We always use the "straight" wire (blue from the kit).
3. In the properties of the computer's network adapter, write the static address 192.168.0.15, the subnet mask 255.255.0.0
4. Remove the power supply plug from the router, press the reset button, and without releasing the button, plug the power back in, wait for the router to boot for about 15 seconds and only then release the button.
5. Now quickly open the browser, enter http://192.168.0.1 and in front of us is the Emergency room. Select the firmware file dir300b_v2.05_abnj.bin and click "Upload Now".
